  • About The Role

  • We have an exciting opportunity for a professional and proactive Associate HR Business Partner to support all departments across Birmingham Airport, providing expert guidance on HR policies, employee relations, and people management. This role builds trusted relationships with managers, strengthens capability across the organisation, and ensures consistent, fair, and legally compliant HR practice.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Employee relations management — Lead and manage a wide range of ER cases, ensuring compliance with employment law and organisational policy.

    • Manager coaching — Provide ongoing coaching to managers, building confidence and capability in handling people matters.

    • Policy development support — Assist HR Business Partners with reviewing and implementing HR policies, templates, and toolkits.

    • Recruitment support — Participate in assessment days, interviews, and selection processes to ensure fair and consistent hiring.

    • Employee lifecycle administration — Maintain accurate employee records, support offboarding, and analyse exit interview trends.

    • People initiatives delivery — Promote and embed HR initiatives, acting as a credible and solutions‑focused representative of the People Team.

    Experience Required

    • Employee relations expertise — Demonstrable experience managing complex ER cases through to resolution.

    • Employment law knowledge — Strong understanding of UK employment law with the ability to apply it practically and commercially.

    • Stakeholder influence — Proven ability to build trust, communicate effectively, and influence at senior levels.

    • Resilience and independence — Comfortable working autonomously in a fast‑paced environment with sound judgement.

    • Coaching capability — Demonstrated experience developing manager capability in people management.

    • Organisational skills — Strong planning, prioritisation, and administrative skills with the ability to manage competing demands.
